charming, illuminating abstract illustration, nestled in the center of gilt wood frame, thick textile Taffeta white mat. An Statement with twist of Modernism. In excellent condition, with mix of Modern and Vintage copy signed print.

The print inspires from a copy of Georges Rouault (1871-1958).  One of the most renowned artist, Born May 27, 1871 in Paris in a cellar which his mother has been carried after their house has been struck by a stray shell during an insurrection. His father was a cabinet maker in a piano factory. His paternal grandfather was a lover of art, admirer of Manet and Daumier, and hope that his grandson would be a painter. At his early age, Roualt became apprentice to a stained glass maker. The early contact with stained glass, influenced him immensely to become a painter, and print maker. At the same time, he attended evening classes at the Ecole d'es Arts Decoratifs and studied painting at the Louvre.  He entered Ecole des Beaux Arts under Elie Delaunay who died soon after. He became the favorite pupil and a close friend to Gustave Moreau.. According to the source, Roulat was a 20th century artist , expressionist and was associated with Matisse. His works reveals his apprenticeship to a restorer of medieval stained glass which influenced his use of strong black contour lines, and vivid colors.
