The raised majolica decorations hand painted, in sweet colors with bold gold. Figures and cherubs with bows and other medallion symbols. Colorful and Romantic with greens, horses and people. The condition is very good with one visible hairline on the left highlighted on the image. The background color is white and the decoration is in pink, terracotta, green, blue, brown and gold. body is surrounded with gilt decorated scrolls. The interior has either mark or scratch on the edge which could not be identified. This box is vintage, and heavy. It is on a pedestal or foot. with attractive ornamentation. base has protected green round felts and interior also has double green felts to avoid breakage while the box is opens and closes, possibly the hairline resulted of that incident.
